Meet The Artist: NAOSHI

We are so delighted to introduce @naoshisunae, the brilliant artist and illustrator we had the absolute honour to collaborate with on this year's Advent Calendar artwork!

Born in Iwate, Japan and currently working out of Los Angeles, Naoshi is most at home in the medium of sand art, known as 'Sunae' in Japanese. Using brightly coloured, shiny grains of sand, Naoshi visualises a fantastical world of her own, imbued with a sense of nostalgia.

The brief for our 2025 Advent Calendar: to create a sewing room dreamscape filled with wit and delight. Her sewing notion characters and her depiction of Kylie's sewing room are truly unique and such a treat!

The 2025 Advent Calendar cover art was first created digitally and then made as a sand art piece by Naoshi. You can see the sand grains in the artwork - making this project just that extra special. Beyond the cover - inside you'll find 21 woven labels featuring Naoshi's original designs (spread out across 9 windows for you to open daily)! Our 2025 Advent Calendar box and tray have been made with eco-friendly materials (sugar cane pulp/recyclable paper), making this beautiful box reusable and way too gorgeous to part with.
